Award winning,Trompe l’Oeil Collection

Kilim rugs are world re-known for the simplicity of the sign and the unique flat tapestry weaving. SoFarSoNear idea was to inject a little Italian style and combine the traditional handcraft with the motifs familiar to the Italian iconography. A true fusion between East and West, between the classical motifs of two great cultures, Persia and Italy. What makes the project so unique is also the use of sophisticated UV print to transfer the photographic images onto the rugs. Innovation and tradition, modernity and history, both representing the two faces of the time we live in. The collection features different themes: 'Sicilian Baroque' with the typical facades of the churches and palaces of Sicily, 'Roman Empire' with temples and statues, 'Behind the...

Milan,Urban Chic Loft

A loft is a space originally built for industrial use that was later converted into living space. Lofts are characterized by wide-open rooms, high ceilings supported by thick columns and large windows. A loft is like a blank canvas and it can be a challenge to convert it into an apartment. Empty spaces with no amenities like a kitchen or a bedroom. This space is part of a large compound isolated from the street with beautiful greenery all around. Our goal was to keep the original architecture made of iron and concrete, but develop a living space cosy and chic. The clients did also request to have a studio at ground floor level, divided from the private area...

LLAB,A New Brand

The history of the company Luigi Lovato dates back to 1970. In 2017, the management's new vision was translated into design by SoFarSoNear. An art direction project that started with the repositioning of the brand, resulted in the development of a new consistent brand, LLAB and translated into a new line of furniture. Our passionate search to interpret the needs of contemporary living in a way that is original and unique, was the driving force behind the project.

Our aim is to leave a sign in design , where still people, ideas and material matter.

Azucena,Bespoke Textiles

A zucena has always been held in the highest esteem as an Italian brand, combining formal elegance, understated luxury and an aesthetical purity in its collections, all manufactured to the highest standard. The brand was founded in 1947 by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua, who did bring together a number of collections to furnish buildings they had designed. Azucena was recently acquired by B&B Italia with the aim to preserve it's rich Italian heritage. SoFarSoNear Studio did meet the family owning the brand few years ago. Since the start, the relationship was one of complicity and harmony of intent. The brand required a refinement, in order to re-establish its fortune in the XXI...

Viaggio nel Giardino Magico of A.Salvati

K nown architect and designer Alberto Salvati draws inspiration from the pictorial works of children. Through a creative process called frottage, in which the architect gives character and expressiveness to the design, he creates real artistic works. SoFarSoNear has translated two of them into precious hand-knotted rugs, that are one off pieces. The colors and shades of light are the result of a wise use of different yarns such as wool, silk and viscose. Another distinctive element is the three-dimensionality of houses and objects, an effect created by playing with different heights of the pile. Designing a rug is a process that requires particular skills and know-how, but to transform an art work into a rug keeping...

Upholsteries featuring Satin & Chenille

I n recent past, flameretardant fabrics were considered low quality, featuring rather style free design and raw finishes, therefore not suitable for nice interiors. This is not true today, especially for Trevira yarns. One of the effect we have applied on SoFarSoNear textiles suited for upholsteries, is satin combined with chenille. A geometric pattern brings an element of dimensionality to the fabric. Classic patterns like stripes have a contemporary look thanks to the subtlety of colour gradations and the textural quality of the fabric.

Aesthetic and functionality. Safety and comfort for stylish interiors. Fabrics that perfectly fit in elegant homes and hotels.
